bold colours and disco balls

we love bold colours and especially the combination of red and pink… what we might love even a bit more are disco balls! so we thought we could combine these two and create something wonderful for future couples to get inspired by.

the teamwork and outcome were amazing and – as always – seeing our design come to life was the best thing…!

many couples have somewhere they went a lot in the beginnings of their relationship and where they are always reminded to how it all startet – a bar, a restaurant, a dance club, a park bench in town… our amazing couple has this special spot too and it is one of the most breathtaking venues we could think of! villa honegg sits on top of a hill overlooking the beautiful lake of lucerne and the mountains and we could not wait to design and plan their wedding.

when we met sophie & luis for the first time, she told us that she has a fun fair theme in mind. not cheesy but super stylish and most of all fun! our minds started to spin immediately and we knew there and then that we will have to have a ferris wheel…

cloud nine

once upon a time there was a guy flying to rio de janeiro and instead of watching 4 movies and killing time on the way there he fell in love with his flight attendant… they spent her layover in brasil together and the rest is history.

fairytale right? we thought so too when our couple told us how they met and we were so excited to design and plan their wedding. they wanted to celebrate with a lot of family and friends but still keep a relaxed summer party feel to it. no exuberant flower decoration, no floor length tablecloths, no boring table plan. they simply showed us a wedding invitation designed by oscar de la renta and told us they liked all the colours.

with this we started to design the concept.

of course we wanted to show their story in the design. so for the table plan we made use of the cliché phrase “coffee, tea or me…?” and we love how fun it turned out. the tiles we used as name cards on the plates are a reminder of the mosaic stairs in rio de janeiro where they spent their very first days together. everything fell in place for the concept and we were really excited.

and then the pandemic happened… with loads of international guests it didn’t make sense for them to go ahead with a big wedding and they decided to have an intimate civil wedding instead. of course we completely understood their decision. still we thought it would be a shame to waste the design we did for it and decided to set it up as a styled shoot with great suppliers! we are so glad we get to show you and are super happy with the result. we hope you like it as much as we do…!

this lovely couple met and fell in love dancing in the south of france. after many years of a long distance relationship and many flights back and forth they finally get to live together in switzerland. after their ceremony in a historic guild house we’ve organized a champagne bike for their first glass raising as husband and wife. the reception and party took place in a renowned hotel in zurich with a breathtaking location and view. we’ve incorporated the airplanes in the concept as well as hues of blue and yellow. of course there was a lot of dancing and after the official wedding party they all moved on to a close by club – midnight snacks in hand – to party and dance some more until dawn…

living in new york now these two lovebirds have decided to get married where eva grew up and where they both met and fell in love. the ceremony was held in a majestic church overlooking the city of Zurich and the lake. after that they took the tram – which is the main public transport in Zurich – to get to their evening location. not just an ordinary restaurant but one of the hot spots in the very center of the city. we’ve not only incorporated eva’s favourite colour green but also the honey made by her sister which was another very personal touch to the day. there were some of the best speeches we have ever heard and loads of dancing which made this day a really perfect one.
